Texas Drilling Permit Alerts
Draw an area or pick a county to see new drilling permits filed there.

Not legal or land advice. A drilling permit is permission to drill a well; it does not tell you who holds mineral rights. Location matching is approximate and data may be delayed. Check RRC and the county clerk before relying on anything here.
How the data works. Permits come from the RRC "Drilling Permit Master and Trailer" daily and end of month files. Points use the RRC GIS surface location (NAD27) converted to WGS84 with a NOAA NADCON grid; RRC derives these from survey boundaries. Some permits have no coordinates yet: they count in county totals but not in drawn shapes. "Filed" is the date RRC received the application.
